Castello - Festival Des Cabanes 2025
Castello was developed during my internship at Braun-Braën in Montréal for the 2025 “Festival des Cabanes” at the Villa Medici in Rome. Our proposal reverses the usual logic of shelter: instead of protecting oneself from nature, the visitor is protected by nature.
The structure draws inspiration from the fragile geometry of card castles. Two large triangular glass planes lean against each other beneath a monumental umbrella pine, creating a delicate yet precise form. Here, the tree becomes the true roof, while the glass acts as a quiet architectural gesture — reflecting light, movement and landscape. From certain angles, the installation almost disappears, merging seamlessly with its surroundings.
My contribution focused on concept development, site integration, material exploration and the production of 3D views supporting the competition entry. The project investigates transparency, reflection and sensory perception — themes aligned with contemporary hospitality and experiential design.
